The Society was organized in 1933 under the terms of a gift from A. Lawrence Lowell, then President Emeritus of Harvard, and awards three-year fellowships. The Society of Fellows website provides information on the nomination procedure and current and former fellows. Collected by the Harvard University Archives as part of the records of the Harvard University Society of Fellows.
